House searching

yesterday i went looking for a house at a place where i have always admired overtime, i had to leave work early to make it there on time since its not my normal route home: the weather is so bad, but thank God it hasn't rained for sometime now thus the imminence of an upcoming storm is a relief,, anyway i reach there after soaking wet but all the same i enjoy the temperature difference this has brought to my body...

the caretaker is a good guy but having come all this way i receive news that the vacant houses cant be let till renovations are done and over with in a months time...am damn unlucky i need to move ..lord here me out!!!

PS: my boss is suffering from gouts, he's limping all over the office and now he's made an end of year resolution that never will beer and roast meat or for that matter any kind of meat meet in his mouth, now he's resorted to eating greens contributing to Global warming....talking of Global warming why is the world allowing an upsurge of vegetarians while they should be held accountable for the degradation of the environment? just a thought ....................!!

Trip to Olengeruone

Its saturday and am thrilled at travelling to Molo. you see i love traveling and especially to new places. so when David invited me to his wedding which was to happen on Sunday 18/4/2010. i was both excited and thrilled excited because my friend was quitting the singles club and thrilled because i have never set foot in molo ''proper'' except by bus on my way to Shaggs. the trip was one fun filled one for staters we took the mai mahiu route..... i savored the beauty of the bed of the rift valley then on reaching Nakuru i had to say it wasn't much like Nairobi, guys there are so slow and they are kinda pampered by the touts to board the matatus to their destinations (This can never happen in nairobi )
i reached Molo at around 2.30pm and was met by David, the landscape was so beautiful the air so cool...he welcomed me with a mug of mala and ugali, boy wasn't i so thirsty for that kinda milk?
at around 4pm we left for David's rural area at a place called Olengeruone (places i here and see only in maps) after kuresoi, next to the Mau forest. it was so cold my breath was misty at 5pm!

it was so much fun driving around in the rain and finally we went back to Molo to some major roasting of maize and further mala drinking.
on Sunday we disembarked on the journey back to Nakuru for the wedding. the procession snaked slowly through Nakuru town and eventually we reached Kiti SDA church where the wedding ceremony finally took off....i kind of dosed off in the church due to the heat and the pastor's summon which 98% of it was directed to David alone! one thing i could not help hear was when David was asked by the pastor why he chose lilian for a wife yet there were so many women out there.....he said, ''she was brought up in an upright family, she's God fearing and i understand her'' i thought this was far too shallow the guy dint even love the lady!!

the wedding reception was at Hotel Kunste where we took some lovely pictures and really enjoyed ourselves to some sumptuous meals while we chatted with the brides maids. did i mention i took a lovely picture with one in the church?
what a lovely day i had on David's wedding day

office life

its friday and the Boss is out of the country, everyone is behaving irresponsibly, grown up adults are not at their desk simply because the big man is out of the office. i tend to find a common correlated behavior among staff of various organisations ave worked for: the helpful, the conniving, the honest, the dishonest and those who simply want to be your enemies because they enjoy spying and snooping on everyone.
my boss lost his dad and according to their culture they need a 13 day mourning period! that means i have to handle all the workload which so far i have done efficiently and promptly he's even concerned how i dont call him for consultations, i have always considered myself a fast paced learner and in fact such has been one of my strongest points.
this week so many things have happened positively around me: my gal got a job, a friend of mine too was able to get a placement after my recommendations.....wow!! and this morning am being told that muthaiga Golf club of all the clubs in Kenya does not have an accountant..boy dont i see an opportunity there. true to my word i make my intentions known with instructions to the guy that i would be interested in the part-time job anytime of the day.
the weekend is here. on Sunday am meeting Victor to discuss the way forward on his upcoming wedding and am also suppose to attend David's wedding too come 18th April....ohh i feel old already!!

Easter blast

the day was a blast had a visit from Lucas and Ali all my childhood friends whom i adore dearly we had a very good day full of laughter (no wonder i have gained weight of late). reminiscing about the good old days when we were kids and how changes have really occurred around us. the funny thing about the three of us is that we are all non conformists we are all dynamic and with variant beliefs.

talked to mum over the phone just to wish her a happy easter the funny thing about her is she considers herself to have slept on an empty stomach whenever meat does not feature in her meal. she laments to me how she hasn't eaten for days, when i ask her why she says she's tired of fish and vegetables!!

overally easter was a a beautiful day had a good time with my girlfriend too except for the call i got from my boss later that afternoon, his dad passed on Sunday morning. the paradox of life, while others make merry others mourn

its life on a roller coaster in nairobi if that befits my own defination of the daily nairobi life of a kenyan always on the search for a better and dignified life.

in my daily travels to and from work i see sufferings, joy, death (yes instant deaths on the roads) and celebrations as well. such is the paradox of life in the capital of kenya. but looking on the brighter side i believe nairobi has a unique side too infact its paradise on earth or what do u partake of a place where you can have all the climatic conditions in a single day? it can be summer in the morning, rainy in the afternoon and ''winter'' in the evening.

in all that life throws along our path i sincere believe we should as human beings just adapt inoder to avoid the Darwin awards.
